Mid-Year Review

I enjoy looking back at my pictures from our 08' cemetery. It was our first year in our first house, and I think that we did a pretty decent job collecting everything that we did and setting it up. This year, I feel more prepared. There were so many last minute things that I wanted to add to the cemetery, but we didn't have the time or resources. Everytime I build or buy something new, I look back on last years pictures and imagine how much better it's going to be this year >=)

This Makes My Day...

Kashi TLC Pumpkin Spice Flax granola bars. There are actul pumpkin seeds in them as well as all of the good spices that go into pumpkin pie or pumpkin bread. They give me my very own little Halloween escape everyday at work =)

I know it's only July...

but I'm chomping at the bit, waiting for Michael's to put out the rest of their Halloween decor. I'm just hoping that the rest of it isn't covered in showers of glitter. The glitter skull busts that they have this year, really threw me off. They remind me of Elvis... not of Halloween. Black glitter would have been do-able... but silver? Come on, really? Yikes.

On a better note, my main Halloween distributer has not closed as I originally thought. They just moved... closer to where I work >=) That is trouble in itself. I'll be able to make lunch-time trips... the Count is rightfully afraid.

New Orleans Cemeteries

Cemeteries have always been the theme for my Halloween displays. I don't know why I am so fasinated with cemeteries, but I find them extremely interesting and beautiful. Today I convinced the Count to take an expedition into Metairie Cemetery. I figured that it will give me some inspiration for improvements on mine. Next time, I'll make sure my camera is charged to the fullest. There are so many old and beautiful crypts and statuary there and it's huge. Here's a teaser till I post others.

My Pretties

This past weekend was surely one of accomplishments. The push to get things fininsh and squeeze more things into 108 days was much needed and very rewarding. Now I have a living room filled with beautiful, creepy stuff that just makes anyone that enters shake their heads...

A few of my favorite things

It's amazing how happy a package of air drying clay and a bag of moss can make a person. Thank God for Michael's and their 50% off coupons, or I'd be broke...ready for all of my projects...but broke.

Beautiful Cemetery

I always appreciate an old, beautiful cemetery. I found this one yesterday and it really got my creative juices gushing.

115 Days Left...

As Halloween draws more and more near, I fall deeper and deeper into that wonderful orange and black dream world that I love. The creative juices are flowing and housew..er..cryptwork, is being pushed aside. Seeing Halloween goodies beginning to appear on store shelves, gets an up-welling of giddy emotion started and it takes all of my self-control to not squeal in the middle of an unknowing crowd of zombie craft shoppers.
