I grew up reading Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (and quite a bit of Alvin Schwartz other work as well) and like many I dearly love those books.
At first, I didn't care for George S. Irving's readings of the books, some of the time it felt like they could have used a second take, but these recordings have grown on me quite a bit. On re-reading the original texts, I think he did a remarkable job adapting the text.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it Mantan Calaveras! I can agree, at first I thought that the way it was done was kind of cheesy, but after listening to a few, I just fell in love with the way it was done. I listed to almost all of them in one day :)
